About the foundation

Joana Grevers Foundation was established in 2008 by the art historian and physician dr.dr. Joana Grevers.

Deeply involved in the Romanian contemporary art scene, the Foundation is mainly focused on promoting Romanian contemporary artists, both emerging and established, as well as strongly supporting the development and integration of rural areas in the national and European cultural heritage.

The Foundation organizes events and cultural activities such as exhibitions, symposia, conferences and develops cultural programs both in Romania and abroad. It also sustains cooperation between institutions and similar organizations, both national and international, and maintains direct relations with them.

Cetate Arts Danube

The „soul project” of the Foundation, Cetate, is the place where creation exists in its purest form. It is the proof that rural areas can provide a place and a time for promoting contemporary art.

Cetate Arts Danube represents a vision which is getting every time closer, step by step, to a concrete, accomplishing reality, due to the sustained efforts of the people who are very dedicated to it.
